WANTED: Dog Catcher

We are in need of an after-hours Animal Control Officer. This person will be on-call from 5pm-8:30am. The position is contracted through the animal shelter and will be paid $25 per run.

Duties include:

• Responding to calls for service from the general public.
• Calls may include requests for help with wild animals, dangerous animals or animals in distress.
• Working closely with the local Police and Sheriff departments

Requirements:

• Some prior experience handlign animals
• Some prior medical experience
• Must pass a drug test
• Must have a clean driving record
• Must pass a criminal background check
• Must be able to lift at least 50lbs.
• Must be able to communicate well with the public
• Must be able to write, in great detail, the nature of each call
• Some knowledge of computers
• Must live close to the shelter and/or Steuben County
