The purpose of
this shelter is to find good
homes for our pets.
Potential adoptive guests will
be treated with courtesy and
respect. No potential
adoptive guest will be denied
from adopting a pet on the basis
of race, color, religion,
gender, national origin, sexual
orientation, age, disability, or
marital status. Our
shelter is concerned with
finding potential adoptive
guests that: can financially
afford to provide for the pet;
have a safe, appropriate place
to care for and house a pet;
have no history of violent
behavior or abuse; have time to
spend with a pet; and are
willing to make a long-term
commitment to the pet. The
interviewing process of
potential adoptive guests will
focus only on these concerns.
Adoption of our
pets to families with children
under the age of five years will
be evaluated based on an
individual basis with the
primary concern being safety.
Out of county adoption will be
evaluated by the shelter staff
on an individual basis.
All adoption decisions will be
based on the welfare of the
animals. Our shelter
reserves the right of refusal to
adopt a pet. Each
prospective guest will be
required to provide a
government-issued picture
identification and to complete
an adoption application.
All animals must be vaccinated
and spayed/neutered by a
veterinarian within thirty days
of adoption.
